Each Level consists of an hands-on 24 hour class, required reading, online homework lessons, case studies, research project and paper & a business plan (for Level 2 & 3),
and written exams.

Our Three Aromatherapy Certification Programs

Certified Aromatherapist - Level 1
This 100-hour program is designed for anyone with an interest in the uses and applications of essential oils in a safe and effective manner. This course will provide you with a clear and concise understanding of aromatherapy and confidence in aromatherapy blending.
This 24-hour course class explores healing traditions using essential oils from ancient cultures, Biblical scriptures, and medieval healers. Basic chemistry, safety, the uses for 31 Oils, and their contraindications are discussed. Students will be introduced to vibrational frequencies. Anatomy and physiology of the Integumentary, Musculoskeletal, Nervous, and Endocrine systems. Blending by note is introduced and students learn to interview, assess, and create a blend for specific purposes and then integrate it into a healing treatment through heart-centered energetic healing techniques. Legal, ethical, privacy, and professional issues are discussed, as well as how to develop a case study.

Our Level 1 Aromatherapy Certification program meets and exceeds Level 1 educational standards set forth by NAHA, National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy. This program also meets the NAHA requirement for Anatomy and Physiology, so an outside class is unnecessary. You may join NAHA as a Certified Aromatherapist: Level 1 after completing this course.

Certified Professional Aromatherapist – Level 2
This 150-hour course kicks it up a notch for the student desiring to learn more and obtain a professional-level certification. The program expands upon the information presented in our Level One 1 Program, giving the student a total of 250 hours of study.
The 24-hour class will include Organic Chemistry of 35 additional oils (for a total of 66 oils), with a discussion of the vibrational frequencies of these oils, toxicity and essential oil safety, botany, and taxonomy. Anatomy and physiology with essential oils known to support these systems: Cardiovascular, Lymphatic, and Immune, Psychoneuroimmunology Reproductive, Urinary, Respiratory, and Digestive Systems. These oils will be presented using a holistic approach incorporating physical, emotional, and spiritual qualities. Development of Intake and Assessment skills as part of a greater professional development are included along with consultation and client education. Blending by classifications and chemistry is introduced along with a review of blending by note. Students then create a blend of specific purposes for a partner and are led in a series of heart-centered healing techniques utilizing both energetic healing and aromatherapy. Legal, ethical, and professional issues are discussed, as well as, ways to do research papers, case study process, and development of a business in aromatherapy.

Students must complete the 100-hour, Certified Aromatherapist program in order to enter the 150-hour, Certified Professional Aromatherapist Program.
Our Level 2 Aromatherapy Certification program meets and exceeds Level two educational standards set forth by NAHA, National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, as well as the requirement for Anatomy and Physiology, so an outside class is not needed. You may join NAHA as a Certified Professional Aromatherapist: Level 2 after completing this course.

Certified Clinical Aromatherapist – Level 3
This 150-hour course prepares health professionals to proficiently practice aromatherapy in healthcare organizations, facilities, and private practice. The development of therapeutic relationships is continued with advanced interviewing and assessment skills followed by energy healing techniques with essential oils. Essential oil safety and toxicology including topical and internal are identified especially as it correlates with medications, wound care, and more. Safety guidelines for vulnerable populations are discussed and include infants and children, pregnant women, the elderly, and those with chronic conditions. Profiles of an additional ten oils are given along with their relationship to clinical care. The student will be required to do ten case studies and should relate at least two to their area of research and/or clinical practice. Discussion of professional dimensions for a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist concludes this dynamic course covering physical, emotional, and spiritual dimensions.

The ISHA certification in clinical aromatherapy offers an educational credential that will allow the certified aromatherapist to sit for the ARC exam to become a Registered Aromatherapist (RA).

Students must complete the 100 Hour, Certified Aromatherapist program and the 150 Hour, Certified Professional Aromatherapist Program in order to enter the 150-hour Certified Clinical Aromatherapy program. Our Level 3 Aromatherapy Certification program meets and exceeds Level three educational standards set forth by NAHA, National Association for Holistic Aromatherapy, as well as the requirement for Anatomy and Physiology, so an outside class is unnecessary. You may join NAHA as a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist: Level 3 after completing this course.
