The Ides of March usually occurs around the middle of the month, It was an occasion to celebrate the Feast Of Anna Perenna, a Goddess of the new year. It was a day celebrated among the   common  people with  picnics, music and time with families.  It was a festival with the theme of out with old in with the new. Conversations would revolve around what they were going to get rid of and create space for the new. Houses would be cleaned, old clothes given away, etc.

I remember as a child my mother doing spring house cleaning. Everything was cleaned, furniture re-arranged, curtains put out on the clothes line to dry. Anything she did not want anymore would go to a charity .

This is a good time for us to look at what does not serve us anymore. Look at it as a physical, emotional,

Let us look at some tips of how to let go of the old stuff that is not working for us anymore and look at what we can do to bring in the new.

  1. Stay in the present moment knowing that all we have is right now that we are safe, well and protected.

  2. Let go of the past, focus on where we want to be and what we want to do.

  3. Get a clear mental image of your ideal successful self. Set an intention.

Think about the solution. Whenever we are faced with a difficult problem focus on a way to change what is going on. Solutions are positive where as problems are negative and lead to a negative mind set which manifests in reality. Norman Vincent Peale, a major proponent of thinking once said “Whenever God wants to give us a gift he wraps it up in a problem. But the wonderful thing is if we look for the gift we will always find it.“

There is a lesson in change. Seek it. Whatever the situation is it is sent to help us learn something to become better, to expand and grow. Use the mind to exert mental control over the situation. Be positive and proactive. Remember, decisions, not conditions determine your path. Every plant needs to be replanted now and again if it is to grow.Embrace change and continue to become more of the person you want to be. Resisting change affects our psychological wellness, physical health , relationships and work.

Dream a little dream and watch it grow.
